The following are additional scholarships CME graduate students are eligible to apply for. Students are notified when to apply for these scholarships.
Recipients will be limited to one faculty-level graduate award. If a graduate student is eligible for more than one award, he/she will be nominated for the award with the highest value.

DB Robinson Graduate Scholarship in Chemical and Materials Engineering
Awarded annually to two students of high academic standing who are registered full time in graduate degree programs in Chemical and Materials Engineering. Preference will be given to students studying in the field of Thermodynamics.
ASME OMAE Calgary Chapter Graduate Scholarship in Engineering
Value: $ 2,500.
Awarded to a student registered in, or admissible to, a graduate degree program in Engineering, engaged in research in the area of offshore, arctic, or pipeline engineering. This may include but is not limited to offshore technology such as structures and production systems, inspection technology, materials, arctic engineering and technology, pipeline design and construction, compression, and metering. The criteria for the award will include academic achievement and either demonstrated research ability or research potential. Part-time students are eligible for the scholarship.
Chevron Graduate Scholarship in Natural Gas Engineering
Awarded annually to an engineering student in a graduate degree program who is engaged in research involving the production, processing or utilization of natural gas.
Coal Mining Research Company Graduate Scholarship
Awarded to an outstanding full-time student in, or admissible to, a graduate degree program in Engineering who is engaged in research related to the exploration, production, transportation or use of Western Canadian coal.
Edmonton Churchill Scholarship
Value: $40,000 per year
This scholarship is awarded to a graduate of the U of A entering PhD studies at Cambridge University. Students now completing a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Engineering are eligible to apply. Click here for more information.

EF Pearson Chemical/Business Graduate Scholarship
Awarded annually to a graduate student who is currently registered in the MBA, MBA/MEng or the Masters of Engineering Management program. Recipients must hold an undergraduate degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering. Selection is based on academic achievement. Part time students are eligible to hold this award.
Gulf Canada Resources Limited Graduate Scholarship in Hydrocarbon Development
Two scholarships awarded to outstanding students registered in, or admissible to, a graduate degree program in engineering engaged in research related to the development of hydrocarbon energy resources in Canada. Students may apply in open competition to hold the award for a second year.
Inland Cement Graduate Scholarship in Environmental Studies
Awarded to a student entering or pursuing a graduate degree in environmental engineering studies at the University of Alberta with preference given to a student pursuing studies related to air pollution.
Luscar Graduate Scholarship in Environmental Engineering
Awarded annually to four students pursuing graduate research study in a discipline in the Faculty of Engineering in an aspect of technology that is directed at minimizing the environmental impact resulting from the recovery, transportation or utilization of fossil fuel resources. Students may apply, in open competition, to hold the award for a second year for an MSc and for a second and third year for a PhD. The scholarships may be held concurrently with other awards and will be restricted to Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
Oil Sands Graduate Research Award
Awarded annually to a student entering or pursuing a graduate degree in oil sands research at the University of Alberta. The criteria used for funding will be based on full time student registration in a MSc or PhD program, undertaking experimental and/or theoretical research related to oil sands processing. The award will be on the basis of academic achievement and demonstrated progress in oil sands thesis research.
Petro-Canada Graduate Scholarship in Petroleum Engineering
Awarded annually to three outstanding students registered in, or admitted to, a doctoral program in Engineering, and engaged in a field of research leading to the advancement of technology associated with the development of petroleum resources. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Recipients may apply in open competition and may hold the award for a maximum of three years.
